Principles of Our Yoga
Our yoga adheres completely to the principles of alignment and is biomechanically sound. It takes us towards health and not away from it - people are unfortunately too good at hurting themselves!
We learn to move the spine: in extension, flexion, rotation and in side bending; all in an integrated way.
We also learn to ground, through our bones, in order to lose tension in muscles. We learn to balance and still lose tension.
We start to free up the respiratory system, i.e. once we are grounded and relaxed we can breathe better.
So in consequence we begin to really notice how we feel in our bodies. We become more at ease with ourselves and we can start to change physically and emotionally in our approach to the world around us.
If all of this sounds very serious, yes, the practice of yoga and its benefits are proven to be seriously effective but in addition our classes are always fun and with room for dialogue and exploration.
