About Our Intelligent Yoga

Our Yoga adheres completely to the principles of alignment and is biomechanically sound. So it takes us towards health and not away from it. It is not about performance!

We adapt postures to suit our own structure and only put movements through our bodies that we have evolved to do as human beings. We work on function, not structure because the body organises itself with "whole movement patterns", not with working a particular muscle.

We learn to notice better how we feel and this informs our movement. We notice unhelpful things we do that cause us pain and discomfort. We free up the respiratory system.

So we become more at ease with ourselves, and we start to change physically and emotionally in our approach to the world around us!

Powerful stuff!

I keep my classes small, so students get the attention they need. This means I can Zoom and teach live at the same time. I encourage dialogue and exploration.

My Yoga Inspiration

As a young Yoga student I saw people struggling and injuring themselves. Later I discovered there was another way. I stopped trying to simply achieve or to push myself. Instead I started to listen to my body, becoming more attentive and really feeling what I was doing. My body changed!

My experience as a Yoga teacher has further inspired my understanding of the huge benefits of this style of Yoga. I have taught not only complete beginners and seniors but also people with such health concerns as: arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal, knee and hip problems, ME and also ex-cancer sufferers. I experienced at first hand the power of this Yoga in helping me to deal with family traumas and my own illness.

During over 20 years that I have been teaching I have attended regular training sessions and workshops to keep me up to date. i have run workshops and Retreats and assessed trainee Yoga teachers.

Quite simply this Yoga is life-changing!

Enjoy Your Yoga!
